Academic offerings: Courses in the Urban Affairs major in the Public Policy Studies Department include those that analyze urban transportation issues, including public mass transit.
Experiential learning: As part of the major, students have to complete an urban internship. Examples include working in a number of major planning and policy-making bodies, including the St. Louis City Mayor's Office, the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, Focus St. Louis, the Board of Aldermen, and the Bi-State Development Agency. Several Urban Affairs courses also offer service-learning opportunities.
Employment opportunities: A degree from the Department of Public Policy Studies offers you opportunities as an urban transportation planner or employee in an urban public transportation agency.
