SLU School of Education Honors 2025 Faculty & Staff Award Recipients

The Saint Louis University School of Education is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Faculty and Staff Awards. Each year, these awards recognize colleagues who embody the mission of SLU through their scholarship, service, teaching and leadership.

This year’s honorees include:

2025 Award Recipients

Superior Service Award — Jeannine Butler, Ed.D.

Jeannine Butler, assistant professor, is recognized for her tireless dedication to student success and her commitment to strengthening the School of Education community. Her leadership in program development and her collaborative spirit ensure that students and colleagues alike benefit from her service-oriented approach.

Staff Excellence Award — Alexandra Boyd, Ph.D.

Alexandra Boyd, assistant dean, school and community partnerships, receives the Staff Excellence Award for her innovative contributions to academic support and operations within the School of Education. She is known for her professionalism, creativity and ability to build partnerships that enhance the student experience.

Outstanding Scholarship Award — Christa Jackson, Ph.D.

Christa Jackson, professor, is honored for her impactful research advancing the field of education. Her scholarship addresses critical questions of equity and access, and her publications and presentations have brought national attention to the important work of the School of Education.

Outstanding Teaching, Advising, and/or Mentoring Award — J. Mark Pousson, Ph.D.

J. Mark Pousson, associate professor, is recognized for his exceptional teaching and mentorship. Through his thoughtful advising and innovative instruction, Pousson has guided countless students in their academic and professional journeys, embodying the Jesuit mission of educating the whole person.

The School of Education extends heartfelt congratulations to Jeannine, Alexandra, Christa and Mark for their well-deserved recognition. Their work advances equity, fosters growth, and ensures that every student has access to a high-quality education.
