Saint Louis University Career Services is proud to share experiential learning data from the past two academic years. Experiential learning is an umbrella term that captures any applied learning SLU students may complete while pursuing their degree.

The SLU community can explore this data using the Experiential Learning Tableau Dashboard. The dashboard visualizes different experiential learning metrics and is accessible on desktop and mobile devices.

The Experiential Learning Tableau Dashboard includes undergraduate and graduate-level data from the academic years 2023, 2024 and 2025. Combining data from SLU academic records and departmental tracking in Handshake, the dashboard represents over 20,000 experiences counted at the term level during the reporting period.

  • Over 7,300 for-credit experiences were reported in SLU's academic record system in 2025 (master's students pursued the most for-credit experiences during every term of 2025)
  • Internship/Job is the leading experiential learning type classified in Handshake during the reporting period (1,104 experiences, 62% of experiences reported through Handshake)
  • Most experiences are completed in St. Louis, with students either physically working in the community or remotely working while attending courses at SLU (1,452 experiences, 82% of experiences reported through Handshake)
  • The most reported modality for experiences tracked through Handshake is "Fully In-Person"
  • The top employer industries/practices associated with experiences tracked through Handshake are:
