Zainab Farooqui is specializing in allergy and immunology because it blends complex science with long-term patient care across many generations. The wide range of conditions — from eczema to rare immune disorders — has always interested in her. 

Farooqui chose fellowship training at Saint Louis University School of Medicine because she's able to maintain a good balance of seeing bread and butter diseases as well as the rare, unicord ailments. She also appreciates the exposure to both adult and pediatric patients, and she's confident the program is training her to be an excellent allergy and immunology physicians.

Amanda Hopkins thinks allergy and immunology is the best specialty! It allows her treat a wide array of complex diseases, and she can care for patients throughout their life, building lasting relationships and significantly improving their quality of life. 

Hopkins chose fellowship training at Saint Louis University School of Medicine because of the people and education opportunities. The attendings have created a welcoming, supportive learning environment. She also splits her time with pediatric and adult patients, treating both bread and butter and complex cases.

Eric Grisham is specializing in allergy and immunology because during his training in both adult medicine and pediatrics, he realized how debilitating allergic and immunologic conditions can be, and the enormous impact those conditions have on the population. He is fascinated by allergic and immunology pathology, especially in the immune system's evolution as children grow into adulthood. Grisham believes allergy and immunology is an exciting, emerging field with rapid advancements. The specialty satisfies his desire for lifelong learning, teaching and advocacy, as well as his desire to form lasting relationships with patients of all ages.
